Development of Raising Seedling Technology for Veronica pyrethrina Nakai Using Plug Trays

Background and objective This study was carried out to develop an effective technique for raising seedlings of <italic>Veronica pyrethrina</italic> Nakai, a native plant species in the Korean Peninsula, plug trays. Methods To investigate optimum cell size sowing media, we sowed seed trays with 34, 21, 10 mL cells filled commercial horticultural substrate mixtures peatmoss perlite 1:1, 3:1, 4:1 ratios. Fertilization levels were set at 0, 500, 1000 2000 mg • L<sup>−1</sup>. Results Plug did not significantly influence seedling growth <italic>V. pyrethrina</italic>. By type, rate highest substrate, followed by 4:1, 1:1. Growth fertilization level higher all fertilized treatment groups than control group, there no difference among 1000, Conclusion The results this proved that it is most suitable sow seeds tray substrates, apply fertilizers less 500 L<sup>−1</sup> concentration.
